Takbīr al-muqayyad is the restricted takbīr recited after the obligatory prayers during Eid al-Aḍḥā. It begins after Fajr on the Day of ʿArafah and continues until ʿAṣr on the final day of Tashrīq. The jurists discussed its wording, timing, repetition, and the rulings connected to pilgrims, travelers, women, and latecomers.

Once the first ten days of Dhū al-Ḥijjah begin, the person intending to offer a sacrifice should not trim their hair, nails, or skin until the sacrifice is performed. This ruling is based upon the explicit instruction of the Prophet ﷺ and remains in effect until the uḍḥiyah is slaughtered.

The first ten days of Dhū al-Ḥijjah are among the greatest days of the year, and righteous deeds performed during them are more beloved to Allāh than during any other days. This includes charity, which carries even greater virtue during blessed times and seasons in which rewards are multiplied.
