Q: What is the ruling of both Hajj and Umrah? Are they both obligatory?

A: Hajj and Umrah are obligatory, once in a lifetime, upon every free, capable, Muslim of legal capacity with access to suitable provisions and transportation, in excess of what is required for themselves and their family, who has paid all liabilities.
