Q: Is it permissible to recite 1 verse or 1/2 of a verse in prayer after al-Fatiha?

A: Reciting another chapter after al-Fatiha in the prayer is recommended. It is preferable to recite the additional chapter in its entirety though a protion, such as a single verse, thereof will suffice. If a single verse is read, it's preferred to be lenghty such as ayat al-Kursi or ayat al-Dayn etc.
