Q: Do inhalers break the fast?
A: Using an inhaler that delivers a substance into the throat invalidates the fast.
This ruling is based on the principle that the fast is broken when a substance is deliberately caused to reach the internal body cavity (al-jawf) or its like such as the throat or cranial cavity.
An inhaler that delivers medication through the mouth into the airway, reaching the throat and lungs, constitutes deliberate internal entry of a substance and therefore breaks the fast.
