What if the Officials Don't Announce Ramadan

Q: I live in a Muslim country and saw the crescent of Ramadan myself but it was not officially announced by the government. What should I do?

A: If you saw the crescent and your witness was rejected for some reason, you are obliged to fast. The sighting of the moon is not restricted to the ruler.
