Can I wipe over my hijab?

Q: Assalamu Alaykum Dear Sheikh , when a women wipes over the scarf how does she wash her ears . Cause the ears are inside the scarf.

A: Wa ‘alaykum al-salam. It is permitted to wipe over the head scarf that is fashioned around the head and neck that is difficult to undo e.g. the tarhah or shaylah. Because the ears are a part of the head they do not need to be washed when wiping over the headscarf. Allah knows best.
